Een meesterlijke selectie van portwijnen, komend van Ferreira's Quinta do Seixo. Met een gemiddelde leeftijd van 7 jaar en een elegante opvoeding op eiken, is FERREIRA erin geslaagd het intense fruit van een Vintage met de zachte rijpheid van een houtgelagerde Tawny te combineren.
Ongewoon doch zeer plezierig; een uitgesproken kruidig smaakpalet, een mistig pepertje met een forse dosis cassis, kersen en een mondvullende warme finish.

Dark fruit but also an attractive lifted, almost herbal topnote even though the fruit was clearly fully ripe. Really scented, even a touch floral, and still a fine note of minerally, almost smoky, graphite. Impeccable balance here, there's impressive freshness for such a powerful and intense wine and the complexity of the aroma is impressive so early in the wine's life. Firm, chewy but somehow succulent and with great length.

The mid-palate shows good concentration, especially in the context of this lighter-styled vintage. It does have all the freshness I expect in the vintage, though. This is an excellent effort by Crasto, but it does need some rest. If it develops as I hope, it may even be entitled to an uptick in score.
